The
circle has Vitruvian man at the centre, showing how his arms and feet
correspond to the divisions of pi on the circumference on the circle.
A pink strip folds out from the cover and you can roll the circle to match
the equation. I wanted to create a physical embodiement of a mathematical
concept, in order to prove it. All numbers are man made, we alone recognize
them, they are a truth to man alone. That our harmonious form (as exampled
by Vitruvian man) corresponds to pi, a universal truth, is only our universal
truth.
The concept therefore folds
away mentally and physically.
